A tube mill is an instrument used to make tubes into useful articles such as pipes. They are one of the most important tools in the woodworking industry, and many amateur woodworkers take great pride in making one or two of these mills for their own use. The type of material to use for your grinding job will depend largely on what you intend to do with it. For instance, if you intend to use it to make stainless steel jewelry, a fine wire mesh would be ideal. However, if you want to use it to make buttons, beads, pinstripes, and small leather trinkets, a diamond plate may be your best bet.

There are many reasons why people choose a mechanical steel tube mill over the alternative, which is a drill press. For starters, a tube mill allows you to make very thin materials, as well as materials that are custom sized to fit into an existing hole. Tubes also allow you to do more work in less time, and they can produce these results without damaging your machinery.
